Following on from today’s reminder about our Art Exhibition, we also want to highlight our Performing Arts Showcase, taking place tomorrow (Tuesday 8th July) from 5:00pm to 6:00pm in the Drama Studio.

Enjoy an evening of creativity and talent, featuring Shakespearean performances from our Drama Club and expressive dance pieces by our Year 9 GCSE Dancers.

We’d love to see you there and really appreciate your support in celebrating our students’ achievements across the arts!

We had lots of fun with our primary students again yesterday during their second transition day. Mid-morning, we experienced some exciting and colourful science experiments, and then we rounded off transition with an energetic game of benchball! The instructions may have sounded baffling to begin with but the excitement and noise as everyone worked together were immense!

We hope that all of the students and you, their parents and carers, have found these sessions reassuring and we are really looking forward to welcoming you back in September to begin your journey with us at KSA.

A couple of reminders:

  • Year 7 Residential: Sign-up is now open for next term's trip. Keep an eye on your emails for more details.
  • Application Forms: If you haven't already, please fill in your application form on Applicaa. This is important information that we will need before students begin in September.

We were proud to take 28 of our Year 7 and 8 students to the City Schools Athletics Championships, where they competed against schools from across Peterborough.

All of the students were amazing and represented the school really well!

Some highlights from the day:

  • Sam (Year 8) came 1st in the high jump, setting a new record of 1.65m, and also placed 3rd in the long jump.
  • Amelia (Year 8) secured 3rd place in both the 200m and high jump.
  • Elijah (Year 7) came 3rd in the 800m.
  • Kai (Year 7) placed 4th in both the 100m and discus.
  • Gabe (Year 8) finished 4th in the javelin.
  • Daisy-May (Year 8) came 3rd in the 100m.

A fantastic day of athletics and achievement—congratulations to all involved!

Our first Transition Day is well underway, and it’s wonderful to see how settled the students already are. You should be incredibly proud of the way they are embracing this big change—well done to them all!

We’ve just completed our first round of lessons in Art, Design & Technology, History, and Maths, and we hope the students are enjoying themselves.

It was also a pleasure to welcome so many of our new parents and carers to this morning’s coffee event. We hope we were able to answer any questions you had. A reminder that we are holding another coffee morning tomorrow at 9am in the canteen. All new parents and carers are warmly invited to join us for refreshments and the opportunity to meet members of our Leadership, SEN, and Governing Teams.

Due to an updated forecast, we have revised our guidance and will now allow KSA PE Kit for the remainder of this week (wb 30th June 2025).

The kit should adhere to the usual PE kit guidelines and will be held to the same standards as normal uniform (shorts should be of a suitable length, Nike pro or equivalent shorts are not permitted).

We also urge students to apply sunscreen before arriving at school and to bring a water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the day. Students will be advised to remain in shaded areas during break times. Hats may be worn but should be removed while inside the school buildings.

We had a brilliant Book Club gathering last Thursday!  This month, students had the choice of two fabulous reads: the fiction novel 'Girl 38' by Ewa Jozefkowicz and the non-fiction 'You Don't Know What War Is' by Yeva Skalietska.

It was lovely to see some new faces alongside our regulars this time – and it was definitely warm enough for ice-lollies! We're looking forward to our final Book Club meeting of the year on Thursday 17th July. This will also be the deadline for entries to our new bookmark competition; pop to 1U10 for further details if you're interested.

You can even catch up on past Book Club meetings on the school's YouTube channel. Ah, how the time flies when reading great books!
