On the 6th March we were yet again joined by the fantastic David Allton from Frontline Living History as he delivered an informative and engaging WW1 workshop to our Year 11 GCSE History students. The workshop really brought the history they've been studying alive and we're sure David's enthusiastic and interactive delivery will definitely live with them long past their exams this summer!

Yesterday, students from our Year 9 and 10 Performing Arts classes were treated to an amazing performance by the National Theatre.
'The Left Behinds' immersed us in a post-apocalyptic world and showcased incredible sound, lighting, and creativity for our students; a fantastic opportunity to experience a professional production.
Our Year 9 drama students were also treated to a Q&A and workshop with the director, actors, and technical team afterwards.
Well done and thank you to everyone involved!
Earlier this term, we held a mock assessment workshop for our Post-16 students, led by a representative from the Apprenticeship Support and Knowledge (ASK) Programme.
The workshop provided valuable insights into how employers use assessment centres, particularly for large and competitive schemes. Students gained an understanding of what to expect at an assessment centre and had the opportunity to participate in a mock activity similar to those they may encounter in real-life scenarios.

Earlier this month, the BAE Roadshow visited Ken Stimpson Academy to give Year 7 students an exciting insight into the world of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and maths), exploring the science behind AI. The students were amazed by the robotic dog!
The presentation showcased AI's ability to generate song lyrics, music, and accompanying videos. Robotic dog demonstrations included voice control, navigating a maze using LIDAR and sensors, and describing its surroundings. The team also demonstrated deep fakes by using an avatar of a team member and 'putting words in their mouth', teaching students to question what they're seeing and hearing online.
