Residential Start!

We’ve arrived safely and the excitement is already in full swing! As soon as we got here, everyone threw themselves straight into the activities, full of energy, laughter, and team spirit. The students are having a fantastic time getting stuck in and making memories together. Judging by the enthusiasm and noise levels, we might be in for a sleepless night ahead — but that’s all part of the fun on the first day of residential!

This morning, we gathered again as a school community to mark Remembrance Day – a moment of collective reflection, respect, and gratitude. We came together with members of our wider community in a shared act of remembrance. We stood together quietly and respectfully – a simple gesture, but one that carried deep meaning.

With thanks to our speakers, our performers, and our cadets. A special thank you to Mr Winlock, whose careful planning and organisation make this event run in such a respectful manner.

This Friday 14th November, we’re excited to be joining others across the UK to raise funds for Children in Need. We’ll be holding a non-uniform day and a double break packed with fun activities and stalls. Students are encouraged to bring a suggested £1 donation for non-uniform, along with some spare change for the activities during break.

Tesco kindly contributed £50 from their charity fund to provide snacks for students who may occasionally need a little extra nourishment to stay focused and engaged throughout the school day.

As we know, access to snacks plays a key role in supporting young people's concentration by supplying essential energy and nutrients between meals. This helps prevent dips in mood and attention caused by hunger, which can impact learning and wellbeing.

We are truly grateful to Tesco Werrington for their support and commitment to helping students in the local community. Their generosity and thoughtful contribution highlight the value of strong community partnerships in making a meaningful difference to the lives of our young people.

Celebrating Success at KSA!

During one of Aryan's squadron parade evenings, the Squadron received a visit from Wing Commander Nicola Duncan, Station Commander, RAF Wittering.

She came to present the Corporal with the Station crest and challenge coin marking his appointment as the Station Commander's Cadet.

"This was an incredibly difficult application process, however out of 20+ applications, his CV and application form stood out." - Wg Cdr Nicola Duncan

For the next 12 months, the Corporal will accompany Wing Commander Duncan on official visits and functions.

Well done Aryan!

The final week of last term saw us celebrate a group of exceptional students who have gone above and beyond in their contributions to school life. Students were nominated for a range of reasons, including speaking confidently in front of over 800 people, demonstrating outstanding effort and kindness in lessons, and promoting their subjects with creativity and pride.

We are proud of the dedication, courage and positivity shown by our students, and we look forward to seeing them continue to shine. Well done to everyone involved.

Last week's Young Enterprise Halloween Disco was a spooky success! Led by our team of Post 16 entrepreneurs, students in Years 7 and 8 had an afternoon fuelled by scary costumes, lots of sugar, and all the latest dance hits! A great way to kick off the half-term break.

Young Enterprise is a nationwide competition involving students from all over the country competing each year to be crowned Best Overall Company. In past years, Post 16 students at KSA have had great success in the competition, and this year's company, although just beginning their journey, are already showing great initiative, collaboration, and focus.

Thank you to everyone that helped to make the event a success. We look forward to seeing what the Young Enterprise team does next!
