Transition at KSA
We pride ourselves in our transition process and aim to make the move from Primary to Secondary school as smooth as possible for all students.
As part of the process students can expect:
- Two full transition day visits to our school during the summer term
- Two additional morning visits for SEN students or those identified as benefiting from this by primary schools
- Information on our New Student webpage along with printed booklets and sheets (timetables, map, visual transition guides)
- Head of Year, SENCo, Safeguarding and ELSA/Mentor visits to every child
- Our A-Z guide full of information
- Invitations to lessons at KSA in years 5 and 6
- Your first day in September will be inside school without other year groups, so you can explore and learn your way before meeting other students.
- Mentors
In addition, parents and carers can expect:
- An evening in the summer term to meet with Tutors and key staff
- Coffee mornings - come and talk to us while your child gets settled
- School tours - see our school during the school day
- A dedicated tutor point of contact should you have any queries or worries
