We began our 'Safer February' campaign with an anti-violence and anti-knife presentation from Alison Cope. Alison is the mother of Joshua Ribera who was stabbed to death in 2013. She now visits schools across the country to share her powerful and thought provoking message, giving information around what we share on social media, its potential impacts and the importance of making good choices and surrounding yourself with good people. Today's assemblies delivered a lasting message of the importance of showing kindness and taking the time to show how important our loved ones are to us.

For more information about Alison and her campaign visit www.AlisonCope.com and if you feel your child requires further support please do get in touch

This week, in conjunction with the St Neots English Centre, we welcome 13 Chinese students along with their teacher from the High School affiliated to Beijing Institute of Education (http://www.bjjyfzh.cn/) and Zhangjia gang City Jiyang Lake Experimental School. The students will integrate into our academy for 1 week.

Students are 'buddied' up with an English student and they will follow their timetable for the time they are with us. This experience allows for both the international students and our students to develop communication skills and to enhance the knowledge of our different cultures.

Welcome to KSA everyone!

Last week saw 7 students across Years 9 - 11 receive the Headteacher's Commendation. Students were nominated for various reasons but some of the comments from teachers were... "an absolute pleasure to teach"... "making significant progress"... "phenomenal enthusiasm for English"... "her drive and dedication are infectious".

We are extremely proud of all of the students who are a real credit to the school.

Today we held our first Headteacher's Commendation of the year with three very well-deserving students!

"Goes above and beyond in her own time to improve her language skills", "Works hard and is dedicated to doing the best he can in Maths" and "Incredibly hard working" are just some of the comments from their teachers.

Well done everyone and keep up the fantastic work!

Ken Stimpson Academy’s flag has made it to Antarctica.

It travelled with Derron Fox, a zoological field assistant at Signy Research Station, Signy Island.

The photographs were taken on Signy Island, in the background are some Adelie and Chinstrap Penguins. Derron is very lucky to work so closely with the penguins as part of his job. Signy Research Station is one of Britain's smallest stations and it is only occupied in the Antarctic Summer. Research at Signy focuses on the bird populations and terrestrial ecology. Signy Island is one of the remote South Orkney Islands, 1300km from the Falkland Islands and 600km from the Antarctic Peninsula.

Congratulations to the Geography Club.
